HOW IT WORKS:
Donated items of significant value or which are unique are auctioned
simultaneously live on WTOC and the internet. All items not represented on television will be auctioned online.
To Bid on items via the internet, link to the auction via www.vlrauction.com. Participants may pre-bid for items online or can call in to bid during the event. Bids are entered into our computer system and shown live on television and online.
Bidders may view all items with complete details on the website. Item information may include digital photos and links to the donor’s website as provided and approved.
QUALIFYING DONORS RECEIVE:
Photo & Vocal Television recognition on WTOC: WTOC has a potential viewer base of 700,000 people. They are the top rated news provider in Savannah with a regular news audience in excess of 100,000 viewers. WTOC is seen in a total of 22 counties in South Carolina and Georgia.
Each item and related donor selected for television will be described briefly during a 15 minute auction segment. A photograph can be provided by the donor to be shown on television when the donated item and donor are initially discussed by the on air talent. Photos must be submitted via email no later than February 14, 2010.
PRINT LISTING: Donated items and their donor’s name will be listed in The Island Packet, Bluffton Today & Savannah Morning News on the day of the event. Space constraints in certain publications may only allow for televised items to be listed, however all items will have internet visibility.
INTERNET VISIBILITY: Each item is presented on an interactive website allowing bidders the opportunity to view a photo and description of the item along with a link to the donors website. Donors are given the ability to link their donation item listing to their website. The website is available for viewing from the Wednesday prior to the event to the conclusion of the event.

Why Has this Event Been Successful?
The success of this event has always been due to our community's benevolence. This generosity has helped us respond to almost three quarter of a million dollars of funding requests from worthy local charities.
Our 2010 Primary Beneificary is the Children's Center:
Since our inception, the VanLandingham Rotary Club Auction has raised $900,000.00 to benefit various Lowcountry children’s charities!
Our primary beneficiary for this year’s event is The Children’s Center, a forty-year old island institution that provides preschool education & day care services to working families on a sliding scale fee basis depending upon their income.
Help the VanLandingham Rotary Club extinguish the final $50,000 of our $350,000.00 commitment for their NEW facility, currently under construction on Natures Way by Jarvis Creek Park.
Proudly presented by the these generous sponsors:
